Egyptian Water Youth Dialogue

On Friday the 30th of May, young leaders gathered for the Egyptian Water Youth Dialogue, hosted uniquely on a yacht — symbolizing resilience and innovation in the face of climate uncertainty.

Just hours after the event concluded, Alexandria was struck by an unseasonal storm, a stark reminder of the climate crisis we are facing. Streets flooded, mobility disrupted, and lives affected—underscoring why our dialogue matters now more than ever.

The storm was not just a weather anomaly—it was a wake-up call. It reminded us that youth must lead with urgency, creativity, and purpose to build climate-resilient water systems and promote adaptive, inclusive solutions rooted in local realities.

As Egypt faces increasingly erratic weather patterns, the voices of young changemakers are more vital than ever and was another wake up call.

Our dialogue focused on:

✅ Strengthening youth leadership in water, food, and climate governance

✅ Advancing local solutions through cross-sector collaboration

✅ Preparing for the Cairo Water Week and 2026 UN Water Conference by aligning national youth efforts

With over 50 participants representing NGOs, universities, and grassroots communities, we launched our dialogue, proposed action plans, and charted a roadmap for sustainable water futures — for Egypt and beyond.

The Egyptian Water Youth Dialogue proved that even amidst the storm, our youth remain anchored in purpose and united in action.

Special thanks for all our partners who helped make this dialogue a true success; EU Neighbours South, Climatify, and Anuket for Training and Development.

Stay tuned for updates as we carry this wave of momentum forward toward Cairo Water Week 2025 and the UN 2026 Water Conference!
