Communications Support
At Wavemakers United, we believe that young people have the power to shape a more sustainable future. We are a global community of students, professionals, athletes and changemakers united by passion for water. Through education, innovation, collaboration, and community action, we inspire the next generation to tackle global water challenges and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Communications Support Volunteer to help us share our stories, celebrate our community, and amplify our impact. If you enjoy creating digital content and want to use your skills to support a purpose-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
How you’ll contribute
- Create engaging content for social media, our website, and newsletters.
- Edit photos and short-form videos for campaigns, events, and community stories.
- Assist with drafting and scheduling communications.
- Help showcase the impact of our programmes and the achievements of our global community.
- Support the communications team with creative ideas and day-to-day tasks.

We’re looking for someone who
- Is fluent in English, Dutch desired but not mandatory
- Is a student or early-career professional with an interest in communications, marketing, media, or a related field.
- Has experience with photo and/or video editing using tools such as Canva, CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Has strong written communication skills and an eye for engaging visual content. Is creative, organised, reliable, and willing to take initiative.
- Is passionate about sustainability, youth leadership, and creating positive social impact.
Commitment
- This is a volunteer role with an expected contribution of approximately 4 hours per week. We offer flexible scheduling to fit around your work, studies or other commitments.
- Able to participate remotely in Communications meetings once a week (approximately 30 mins)
