From May 6 till May 16 Tilly Stroo Stroo and chairman of wave Indonesia Sabrina Farah Salsabilla are visiting Japan in preparation for the 4th Future is Now event this October at the World Expo in Osaka.
In Osaka, they visited the Dutch Pavilion (theme: Common Ground) and the upcoming event venue—planning panel sessions and youth collaborations that will spotlight voices from Japan, the Netherlands, and Indonesia.
They met with the Netherlands Consulate General to discuss youth engagement during SDG Week and new partnerships, including the Wetskills Water Challenge.
In Kyoto, they toured Kyoto University ‘s water labs, exploring innovations in wastewater treatment and the importance of young professionals in creating sustainable water solutions.
They also had a productive meeting with the President of Young Water Professionals japan , and a dinner with Mr. Yohei Nomura, Ms. Thu Huong Nguyen, and Mr. Anh Vu. Discussions focused on Japan’s water challenges, how to involve more youth, and the exciting possibility of launching a new Wave in Japan!
