Last week, Tirana became the beating heart of intercultural dialogue, and Wavemakers United was proud to be at the centre of it all. Representing Wavemakers United, Moustafa Abdalla joined the ALForum as a speaker in the session “Social Innovation for Sustainable Futures: The Role of Inclusive Employment and Urban–Rural Development”, sharing how youth-led water and climate innovation can transform local economies and bridge communities.
On the sidelines, Wavemakers, with the Anna Lindh Foundation Dutch Network, convened a powerful planning meeting with representatives from universities across Egypt, Greece, Malta, the Netherlands, Belgium, Tunisia, and Nigeria. Together, we’re building a transnational university network to empower youth in water diplomacy, innovation, and intercultural exchange.
Moustafa also contributed to the ROUNDTABLE | Public and Cultural Diplomacy in Action, where inspiring youth from the EU Neighbours South region shared how media, creativity, and storytelling are reshaping narratives across borders—joined by a special intervention from Stefano Sannino, Director-General of DG MENA at the European Commission.
As part of the UfM brainstorming session on “Digital Promotion of the Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue,” we reimagined how Mediterranean youth can drive inclusive storytelling, digital innovation, and a shared regional identity.
From Alexandria to Tirana, from dialogue to action—Wavemakers are connecting voices, building bridges, and shaping a resilient Mediterranean future.
