Malawi
Malawi is rich in freshwater resources, including Lake Malawi, other lakes, and several rivers. These water sources are vital for agriculture, fisheries, energy production, and the daily livelihoods of millions of Malawians. Despite this abundance, the country faces significant water and environmental challenges. Floods and droughts, pollution, limited access to clean drinking water, and gaps in WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services continue to affect many communities across both rural and urban areas.
Despite these challenges, young people remain one of our greatest hopes. When equipped wit the right knowledge, skills, and opportunities, Malawi’s youth can lead in water management and conservation, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, WASH innovation, and climate action. By empowering young people today, we enable them to protect the water resources we rely on now and for future generations, turning knowledge, creativity, and innovation into practical solutions for a sustainable and resilient future.
