It’s been a month since the first swimmable cities summit in Rotterdam!
A big event for the international movement where we got to learn from experts advocates, practitioners, and decision-makers to catalyze a new wave for urban swimming.
The summit was just the beginning and left inspired by the energy of this growing movement. And we’re especially excited that this work won’t stop in Rotterdam.
What's next?
We’re partnering with the Municipality of Rotterdam to give guest lectures at local schools, raising awareness around clean urban water and access. Even more: we have made Swimmable Cities a core focus across all our Waves moving forward.
Also our partners of Swimmable Cities are inviting actors and advocates to organise multi-stakeholder Roundtables (or workshops) in their home cities.
Taking place between World Lakes Day (Aug 27) and World Rivers Day (Sept 28), locals will host and run the events themselves, with Swimmable Cities offering an open source Toolkit for consistency, coherence and collective impact.
