Sup Clean aimed to combine games and learning to introduce children to environmental awareness. It brought together 40 to 50 kids, mostly elementary school students, who engaged in hands-on learning, nature discovery, and—most importantly—pure fun!
Maarten Molenaar, a professional athlete, led the way with exciting water-based games and exercises. The children swam, played, and tackled challenges involving water purification—collecting clean and dirty water, learning about bacteria, and understanding how contaminated water can affect health.
The kids also contributed to the 1MAP Initiative, promoted by Professor Yasmine Jabali and the University of Balamand. They drew their water-related dreams on special postcards, which will later be assembled into a giant mosaic artwork—a symbol of unity and hope for clean and safe waters worldwide.
As one of the coordinators reflected, the event was both exhausting and deeply rewarding:
“They have endless energy and such short attention spans,” she said with a laugh, “but it was worth every moment.”
