Wave NL: Networking and Building Connections

This week, Tilly Stroo was on the move across the Dutch water network. The day started in The Hague with a really good conversation with the YEP team, Vincent Cornelissen, Marjan Riepma and Jorn Baan Hofman, together with Sophie Struijk, Wavemakers United and YEP alumna, to explore our collaboration for the coming year.

From there, she travelled to IHE Delft Institute for Water Education to join the first part of the session with Henk Ovink, “Connecting the next generation of water leaders” together with fellow Wavemaker and WUR student Tim Rotteveel. A big thank you to Santiago Gómez for organizing the session. We are currently also exploring opportunities for collaboration with Santiago and the Latin America and the Caribbean Youth Parliament for Water , which makes these exchanges even more valuable.

Later in the day, Tilly headed back to The Hague to join the networking sessions of the Asia–Netherlands Water Learning Week 2026: Healthy Rivers – Connecting Rural and Urban Water, where she connected with delegates and professionals in the sessions on India and the Kyrgyz Republic.

Thank you to Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) and Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for bringing together such a strong international group. Days like these remind us how important it is to keep connecting people, ideas and generations in the water sector. New collaborations were sparked, familiar connections were renewed, and the energy to keep building together is definitely there.
