The brightest minds with the boldest ambitions are needed to resolve the most pressing water challenges the world is currently facing. Through inclusive, positive water actions we believe that water can be the dealmaker in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The next generation, who is the one mostly impacted by these challenges, deserves a well-informed and meaningful voice in sustainable transition and innovation processes.
To achieve our common development goals a focus on social, rather than technical, innovation is essential. A change in behaviour, whether it be big or small, can create a lot of impact. Many smart, technical solutions are available – now we all need to learn how to apply them.

Wavemakers United embarked on a mission to tackle the pressing global water issues through the UN 2023 GAMECHANGER CHALLENGE, which gathered the brightest minds from around the world. With over 200 teams representing 62 countries, the challenge produced a lot of creative and innovative ideas.
This successful outcome has moved us on to strive for even greater impact. As such, we have committed ourselves to delivering one million guest lectures on water and sustainability to spread awareness and inspire action.
Wavemakers United makes quality education around the topics of water challenges available to the next generation.
Targets
A strong emphasis of this commitment is to educate those most impacted by water challenges, without access to quality education, and without the network to further develop the skills needed to accelerate the climate transition.

Our tools
Water lab
In our water lab kids can experience the fun of water in science.
Physical phenomena of water are discovered with the water lab. Children learn about water pressure, buoyancy and much more in a fun and playfull way.
Guest lectures
Our students and athletes educate the next generation by giving them a guest lecture on water, based on our toolkit of education materials.
Toolkit
Through our online toolkit featuring interactive educational materials on water issues connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our employees, volunteers, and network can educate young people.
Academy
The Wavemakers United Academy offers a training space for Wavemakers in all local Waves.
Wavemakers are students and young professionals who have already chosen a study or career path in the blue and/or green sector.
