During the Open Day, we organized a series of experiments that gave visitors a glimpse into the world of water management.
Practice and Innovation Hand in Hand
One of the highlights was the climate table, led by Willian Weits. Here, visitors discovered how urban planning and greening can make a difference in preventing floods. The interactive aspect made the experiment not only educational but also particularly engaging.
Abdullah Camdere presented the VR headset, allowing visitors to virtually experience a flood simulation. This simulation provided a realistic view of how water behaves during heavy rainfall and emphasized the importance of good water management. It was an absolute crowd-puller and led to many enthusiastic conversations and questions.
Maxime Jonker: Olympic Inspiration
Another highlight was the contribution of Maxime Jonker, an enthusiastic athlete and Olympic sailor. Maxime let visitors experience what it feels like to sail and the physical challenge that comes with it. Her story of perseverance and discipline inspired everyone and created a beautiful link between sporting ambition and working towards a sustainable future. Maxime showed that hard work, whether in sports or sustainability, ultimately leads to great results.
A Day Full of Energy and Engagement
At the end of the day, we recorded several videos to emphasize the importance of the water management program. Abdullah gave an introduction to the water labs and explained how these programs bring real water challenges to schools. Additionally, the operation of both the climate table and the VR headset was explained to further share the impact of these tools.
The Open Day was not just an event, but a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and education. We are proud to have been part of this day and look forward to continuing to build a sustainable, water-friendly future together with the students and teachers of Lentiz.
