Running for water
World Water Day 22 was filled by activities from Wavemakers to drive action and create awareness for water. Still 2.2 billion people lack access to clean and safe water.
As Wavemakers from across the globe we united and joined the largest world water relay to raise awareness for water. This initiative was part of the Run Blue Foundation and ultramarathon runner, water advocate and Wavemaker Mina Guli.
Let's Talk About Water Film Festival
We also attended the Let’s Talk About Water film festival in Trento, Italy, dedicated to World Water Day.
The event was organised by Linda Lilienfeld, founder and director of Let’s Talk About Water and Wavemaker at heart.
Re watched short films made by the winners of the Latin American Award for Short Films on Water and Science 2024. This festival also marked the start of a new film competition: “Back to Our Future” and we can’t wait to see the final result at the COP 30!
THE POWER OF FILM
The films told different stories of different people from different countries but facing similar challenges: water. Those testimonies called for action, and were full of love for our one and only home – blue planet.
These stories make us connect and feel the struggles of others. Water, as common and sacred resource, is part of each person’s story; and we, can help other people to write chapter in a much brighter colours.
We thank the organisers for the chance to participate in such an enlightening event. We are looking forward to more film and inspiring stories!
Festival was organized by Let’s Talk About Water and World Network of Water Museums (WAMU-NET) together with HARPOLAB.
