Drinking water
About 71% of the Earth's surface is covered with water, but 97% of that water is salty and found in oceans. Only 3% of the Earth's water is fresh water, and two-thirds of that is tucked away in frozen glaciers or otherwise unavailable for our use.
Human body
The human body is made up of about 60% water. The brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water
Water in space
Water is not only found on Earth but also in space. Astronomers have found water vapor in the atmospheres of other planets and moons, and ice on Mars and in comets and asteroids.
