Recap ‘FUTURE IS NOW’ event World Water Forum

On the 23th of May, the Dutch Pavilion became centre of stage for youth inclusion to make progress on global water challenges. Together with our partners we connected youth initiatives and united resources!

The event kicked of with a bang launching the new Wave of Indonesia. This new Wave is a youth-led intergenerational eco-system that  aims to inspire and educate the younger generation about water-related topics and  creating a culture of sustainability from an early age.

As part of this new Wave of Indonesia The Water Agency  organized the Bali Raincraft challenge where students from all across Indonesia have been asked to use the power of Minecraft to tackle water and climate issues through innovation and collaboration  for the Bajra Sandhi Monument and Lapangan Puputan Renon Area.

The top two final teams got to showcase their studies on site during the World Water forum at the Hackaton on the 22nd of May and the winners were announced during the Future is Now Event and the output will be used to adjust the new Wave of Indonesia to a local context!

During the FiN also interesting workshop were held: IGRAC gave a workshop about the art and importance of story telling and IHE Delft  about empowering young individuals with progressive lobbying approaches

The event concluded by the announcement of the Wetskills winner and by Yasmine Jabali, representing the University of Balamand with an inspiring session about the 1 Million Postcard Initiative!

A day that keeps us motivated to keep going to achieve our Water Action Agenda commitment of educating 1 million children a year on water!
