Paris: (Re)Connecting River and City Conference

For two days this week Wavemakers participated in the (Re)Connecting River and City conference, hosted by Carola Hein, IEA de Paris (Paris Institute for Advanced Study) and Sorbonne University. Tilly Stroo and Elizabeth Hameeteman were a part of a roundtable on Swimmable Cities. They sharing insights on the power of sports, education, and community action to make urban waterways more accessible, sustainable, and resilient.

The conference, held at Paris Institute for Advanced Study and Atelier Néerlandais, brought together global experts to explore the future of water and heritage, covering key themes like:
Swimmable Cities: How sports and recreation can drive urban waterway restoration.
Shipping & Urban Logistics: Sustainable transport solutions along rivers.
