On the International Women’ Day, we had an honour to be a part of the First Lego League Finals.
The Lego League is a global educational program for kids aged 9-15, where they are challenged to design and build an automated robot capable of solving real-world scientific theme, with this years theme: submerged.Â
For this event we teamed up with Team Ocean to bring our interactive Experience Area to life. Our Waterlab and 1MAP initiative allowed kids to unleash their creativity, drawing their dreams, solutions, and innovations on postcards. These postcards will become part of the world’s largest postcard collection, which will be showcased at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan, later this year.Â
It was an honor to have Olympic Gold Medalists Tinka Offereins and Hermijntje Drenth OLY both representing Wavemakers, give the prizes to the League winners and support us in the Experience AreaTheir presence was especially meaningful on International Women’s Day, as we hope their example will inspire young girls everywhere.Â
While progress has been made in advancing women’s rights, we still face challenges—particularly when it comes to the water crisis, where women and girls are often the most affected. We believe that to solve these global issues, we need everyone on board.Â
Here’s to more inspiration, more innovation, and a future where girls and women are at the forefront of solving global challenges.Â
Inspiring kids through science, technology, and sport—together, we can make a difference!Â
