On the 5t of December, during the Dutch–Moroccan Water Days, we co-organised a Water Hackathon with Enactus Morocco, hosted by CCIS Marrakech–Safi. More than 100 students from across Morocco joined us at the Chamber of Commerce in Marrakesh to tackle a key challenge:
How can treated wastewater be safely reused to irrigate urban parks while reducing the use of drinking water?
In just 4 hours, teams delivered inspiring solutions. Congratulations to Team Aqua Pure, the winning team, now joining the Orange Corners Morocco 2026 programme powered by Bidaya Incubator
The Water Hackathon marked our final event of the Dutch–Moroccan Water Days, which were organised as part of the World Water Conference in Marrakesh.
The week marked an exciting first step toward launching Wave Morocco. Together with SITELI Circular Water, we signed an MOU to explore collaboration on this youth-led initiative focused on water awareness, innovation, and cross-sector engagement.
Throughout the week, we engaged in panel discussions, matchmaking sessions, and a field visit to UM6P – Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Across the academia, entrepreneurship, and civil society, we met highly motivated individuals driven by a shared purpose to tackle Morocco’s water challenges and contribute to global water resilience.
The enthusiasm for launching Wave Morocco is unmistakable and we look forward to building a vibrant community of changemakers shaping the future of water in Morocco together!
